I've seen FAN-aticism, but twilight seem to be just that as for a dignity goes. I don't hate twilight because of the movie nor the book. i've never seen nor read it.

i hate twilight because every female friend i know either read the book 9 times through, can quote half of it by heart, saw the movie at midnight madness, now owns the dvd, has changed around thier room so no matter where you look you see edward. OR was to lazy to read the book, saw the movie to be part of the craze, rearranged their room, sends me an email 2-3 times a week asking if i want to come over to watch twilight.I just think it sucks that when i am talking with friends in Starbucks about a game like unreal 2003 and the girls go to their own table to talk, i will say something like "we had the mutators arena, slow mo and vampire" and they just click over to our table on and for hearing the word vampire. back in the late 90s vampirism was cool but now i feel it is sharing the same fate as crappy monster movies dates, Indy everything, the horror genre and most of the gaming industry. it is being bastardized into something cheap and marketable. I understand the cash flow of the world is pretty bad right now but it is insulting how fast the things that are cool today go out of style and it is because once the underground cultural becomes mainstream it is no longer endorsed be the undergrounders and slowly loses coolness.
